Description
Introduce the A3 Light Board & Exploration Tray with Rectangular Play Table to EYFS and KS1 classrooms to encourage children to investigate colour and light.
The Light Board features 3 light settings and a lock function to avoid the panel being accidentally switched off during play. The Light Board is an excellent resource for Early Years children to explore colour, to observe the impact light has on objects, as well as investigating how to mix colours to create new tones, developing understanding of cause and effect.
Children in KS1 will also enjoy the scientific investigation experiences that the A3 Light Board with Exploration tray offers, such as exploring Animal X-rays and Human Body X-rays, and using the light to observe things closely, such as insects in resin within our Bugs Resource Collection.
Enhance children’s experiences of using Light Boards with the Exploration Tray, designed to contain and introduce “messy play” materials such as cornflour, soil, sand, gloop and paint. Children can practice early mark making and pattern making skills using their fingers and they will enjoy observing the light shining through their marks, helping to distinguish fine detail.
The Rectangular Play Table is designed for children to sit or kneel by the table as they investigate the Light Board, supporting core strength and encouraging collaboration.
Pair the light panel and container tray with the carefully curated Colour and Light Sensory Collection and Visual and Movement Sensory Collection containing a range of coloured resources for children to investigate colour. Consider combining this with the Set of Geometric Shapes to introduce mathematical thinking.
